nice simple fun. why didn't i see this before?
This one stands out the most for me. I ignored it at first, but keep coming back, the hand-drawn style is not contrived as some others. My only gripe is the color-choice.
Awesome! very nice DIY style.
love everything except the green. maybe something a little more "green" and a little less "grey?"
Does the grey look green on your monitor? I used a pantone grey that probably has a bit of yellow and cyan in it causing the discrepancy. I would be happy to tweak the colors if necessary. Thanks for the feedback.
Sorry, but I don't like this one at all. I know you wanted something more organic, but this just looks weird.
This logo is surprisingly refreshing. Nice work!
I like this one the best from the finalists. It's very fresh and unique looking, especially compared to the other finalists.
The only great logo is this one, the one with no name, by karl frankowski. Right for all the right reasons. Serach over. Conrats Karl!
This logo is revalatory, and perfect for Blogads. Excellent job.
I thought we weren't allowing cheers at this stage? The last comments both seem like highly biased cheers.
The yellow is too bright, and won't print well in greyscale, or in colour. Ads is too muted and dull next to the bright letters. More emphasis needs to be placed on ads, perhaps make ads the same colour as G. I would also be curious how "Blog" would look in varying shades of orange, from light to dark, with "ads" in black.
Good point. "No cheering and no negatives" rubric was during the incubation phase for final submissions. I just wanted positive input. The window is now closed, so any observations that look bona fide are helpful. This isn't a popularity contest, but real people's views, positive or negative, are helpful. I'm sidelining ad hominem attacks, FWIW.
Making the word "ads" the same color as the "g" would only make it look like "gads." I'd recommend against following that advice.
I obviously didnt make myself clear.
Change the G to a different colour when changing ads to the same colour as the G.
Again, I'm happy to adjust the color palate if such a change is deemed necessary.
To William's comment regarding grayscale reproduction: If chosen I would supply both a color and b+w version. The b+w logo would not be a desaturated copy of the color mark, but an extrapolation designed to reproduce well in a limited palate. Off the top of my head I would probably render 'blog' in black and 'ads' in grey.
Thanks for the input.
This logo looks very vivid and playful, not at all corporate, rather like from a Radiohead album booklet. Or, if you don't like Radiohead, a booklet of a great music band :)
Henry, for my money this really is the one- with all due respect, the other two aren't nearly as on as this one for the task at hand. Perhaps Mr. Frankowski might be willing to work on the color scheme?
(Yes, I can read the comments about getting my comments published, but...) What do you mean "not allowing cheers"? Please tell me you're kidding. Isn't this a blog? Isn't cheering, among other things, what happens on blogs? Yes, this is still the best logo of the bunch, regardless of small color tweaks here and there.
Great point trigger. Actually, that rubric applied to an earlier stage, when we were just looking for tweaks and not a final selection. (Will change that sentence tomorrow.) So cheers or headshaking is welcome, if not outright jeering.
I agree. Different colors are essential. What about blue, green and a splash of red and black, something that might make the "ad" stand out.

Given that my entry didnt make the final cut, I'll have to back this one up all the way. This is by far the best one on the list. Fresh, raw and playful.
Not crazy about the colors -- it needs to have a stronger look.
definitely do not use this one. it's super amateurish. even if you changed the colors it looks bad.
i love this one. i wish this creator can do one for my site too! Very nice, colors are quirky and balanced, just like blogad's audiences! |
