I like the bottom one, the edges look a little rough, but they can easily be smoothed out. Out of these four, the bottom one is more "hand drawn" to me.
Hmm, I was expecting a bit more from this. Although the different color makes it less "Technorati," it still reads like "Bloo" to me and it's still somewhat techy looking. You attempted to twist it a bit in the last one, but not in the direction I would have...I disagree with William that it looks hand drawn.
I said it looks *more* hand drawn. As opposed to the others.
I like the top and third down the best. When ADS is in a light color, it's a little hard to read, especially since it's so small. I know they've been looking for the rough handrawn look, but I think the bottom one (and many of the other "rough" logos that were submitted) look a little too grassroots and unprofessional. The OG in the 4th option also have a different letterweight from the BL, making it look unbalanced. That one might work if the letterweight (thickness of the widths in the letterforms) were equalized throughout. I think you can still do this without encroaching too much on the talk bubble.
Among the logos submitted, these are the cleanest, and the most on-target. The talk bubble clearly shows what is unique and effective about advertising on blogs.
Blogads should remember their target is advertisers, not necessarily bloggers; I therefore think the Blogads logo should convey the look of an established media company that is both in-the-know in the blog community, but also smart, knowledgable and targeted in the media placing industry. As this friendly and smart logo demonstrates, that doesn't necessarily mean that the logo need look "corporate" or "boring." |
